Special Education Help for Parents - Build Your Child a Better Education

JOINNOW (3) Dear Special Needs Parent, I asked you... What are you most worried about when school starts back in the Fall? A. My child will get lost in the new class/routine B. My child's teachers won't read their IEP C. Nobody will "get" my child Your answers were overwhelmed with fear for what is going to happen next school year.  After 20 years of advocacy, I can tell you with certainty, living in fear of your child's school day is not going to help your child enjoy their learning experience.  In fact, when fear, worry, and negativity surround your child's education, the joy of learning is sucked right out of their day. The great thing  is that more than 80% of the concerns that you have for your child's school day can be solved with specific, proactive, actions that you can take starting August 1st.  In the Special Needs Education Help Center, I am dedicating the ENTIRE month of August to helping special needs parents build a better school year for their child.   See What Other Parents Have to Say about The Special Needs Education Help Center: “I feel this amazing sense of empowerment having you in my corner. I’m kicking myself for bit doing this sooner, but I’m absorbing as much as I can!!!” – Karen “Hi Catherine, Just wanted to let you know that the meeting went REALLY well! We went with a 504 for one son, which I agreed with. They accepted ALL of my (our) recommendations for accommodations. They actually added a couple more minor accommodations for the both of them. They decided to keep the IEP in place for my other son. I didn’t have to say a word! This is the FIRST time I ever felt like the special Ed team was advocating for my kids. I’m so happy!! Thank you for all your help again! ??!” “There’s so much information in here that I didn’t know existed. I thought I knew it all, but now I know where to start to get real change in my child’s IEP.” -Proud Mom of a Middle Schooler “Want to share an outstanding advocates information. If you EVER need or even think you need help, some guidance or an advocate that really understands the special needs community I highly recommend Catherine Whitcher. Even though we live in an outstanding school district and have had little no issues with getting ANYTHING our son needs, we joined. Catherine and her years of experience are a wealth of knowledge that we can all use at one time or another. Sometimes it’s just really nice to have a little “help” in your back pocket heading into an IEP meeting. Catherine helps and guides families ALL over the country. LOVE her special education help. -Debbie “Packing a backpack for Nate to start his new school tomorrow. Looking forward to him being educated in a creative and calm environment. Thanks, Catherine Whitcher.” -Tina “My advice to anyone who is to never participate in an IEP or special education discussion without you on their team. EVER….” -Vicky

Her advocacy practice grew quickly and she made the tough decision to leave the classroom knowing she could help more children get the education they needed by educating special needs parents on how the system works.  Catherine has a brother with Down syndrome and is a mom to two wonderful daughters.  She believes every special needs parent is their child's BEST advocate and is dedicated to preparing, supporting and educating special needs parents on how to get what their children need from the school system. Catherine has been a featured speaker at several national conferences and is hired by regional organizations for workshops, including: Reaching for the Stars, AutismOne, OCali, TACA, Autism Society of Il, Autism Society of Iowa, Ups for Downs and Dup15q Alliance. Due to high demand of advocacy services, all parents must enroll in the Special Education Help Center before being considered for 1:1 advocacy assistance with Catherine.
